Inspired by Shannon. I'm not there, yet, but I am gaining even more admiration for the efforts he makes in setting up his shots. As simple as this looks, it was not a walk in the park. Everything from getting the right hole, the right focus, the right exposure, the right angle on the trap, the right shadows in the background--everything took time and attention. I will say that I am happy with the result, and hopefully some of that scalvert magic will fall this way...

It amazes me that we had the same idea for Low Tech, I mean almost the exact same shot! ...and I hadn't even seen the mouse trap in the Humour II challenge yet. Way to go on doing the best job capturing the perspective of the mouse.

The composition is good, if a little cliche. Your cheese is looking a little too orange for me...perhaps bring down the saturation 3-4 points. The depth of field is quite good and gets the point across fine. The glares coming off the tile floor are a little distraction, as is the dark grout. I think a really high-key effect, with the floor and background totally white and the OOF (out of focus) portion of the trap blending into the background would have been nice. Overall, a fine effort though...worthy of a 6.

I remember having seen this mousetrap a challenge before: an excellent idea this, which could have done on that challenge as well! A real cartoon!

May be low tech, but has anyone built a better one? ;-) This is the second (for me) of 2 mousetraps for this challenge and I bought some mousetraps to use in the challenge but didn't have time to work on. This one is better than the previous in that the cutout seems more realistic.

Very creatively done. Excellent composition using framing to demonstrate point of view. Trap is clearly in focus, subject meets the challenge well. I'm sure you are pleased with this shot....thanks for submitting! It made me laugh.

Mouse traps get the job done, for sure. I like the perspective and I think it's well executed. Some loss of focus near the far end of the trap.

Lovely idea, well executed and great caption, I like the 'mousehole' - unfortunately that diagonal behind is very distracting. I wish you well.

Great idea. It's indeed an engenious perspective. My goodness, since I've found this website I'm getting more and more convinced that I really don't know how to take pictures. Great work, keep it up.
