For those of you who enjoy some background information:
My favorite hobbies are
1. Photography (obviously)
2. Salsa Dancing (currently not possible - I miss it very much!)
3. Swimming (also not possible… sigh)
4. MUSIC - Yes! I can do that! I usually play the saxophone in a large wind orchestra, but of course not currently with all the corona restrictions. But I can still practice at home.
The Wrong Note Rag from Leonard Bernstein's "Wonderful Town" was part of last year's concert and was fun to play with the saxophone.
My inspiration for this setup was an album cover of the Dutch musician Candy Dulfer.
I still had those absurdly high heel shoes that I bought for a costume party a few years ago (was a punk rock tattoo lady at the party). Then I collected some fancy clothes and set up the chairs. I put the music sheets with tiny little magnets on a steel wire that hangs from the ceiling .
Then I placed the camera on my tripod, choose the settings and put the timer to 10 seconds, grabbed my instrument, hurried to the chair and tried to look as relaxed as possible.
Gosh, I can't tell you how many times I've stalked from the chair to the tripod and back to see if it works now ... not easy if you're not used to wearing high heels! Finally I lost my nerve and asked our daughter to press the shutter button for me so that I could concentrate on modeling. "Ok, honey, we're done."
When I looked at the pictures on my PC I decided that the space on the floor was too empty, too dark and too boring. Ok, let's put some music sheets on the floor too, put the high heels back on, and repeat the same process as before.
Finally, I got a shot that I liked best because I liked my facial expression, but without music sheets on the floor. But also this one, not as nice as the other one, but decent enough to qualify as an entry.
By the way: Since it is currently not possible to get the much needed haircut (I thought about [user]Ja-9[/ user] several times today), I smoothed the edges of my hair a bit during processing. Hope this is ok ...
;-)
