 I'm sure people out there hate this photo. I don't care 'cause I absolutely love it.

Be mad at me if you must, but I was ASKED to take this photo... for a Valentine's card.

The fact that this week's challenge was "yellow" was a complete coincidence.

critique club

composition

this is a very well composed photo. the placement of the bucket in the perspective draws the viewers eyes towards your subject and eventually to the yellow wall, which is great. the perspective itself is wonderful, and when combined with the angle really bring out the yellow of the gloves and wall.

technical

you did a great job here as well, the yellows are right where they need to be, and the whole photo seems to have a yellow feel, so in that sense you succeeded. the photo is also very clear and isn't to dark or light in my opinion.

overall

i suspect that this photo didn't do as well as it did because the yellow theme may not be totally evident to some voters. also people tend to downgrade shots like this of women. i really like it though. i didn't vote on this set of photos but i would have most likely given it a 7 for its originality and technical strength

A delightfully quirky image. Here, the yellow acts as both a frame and adds details. Her expression is quirky as well. I'm not sure what to think or how to react to her or to this image, but I do find it engaging.

Don't know why but this picture is engrained into my bain. i absolutely love it. has a tiny bit of an absurd edge to it; which i good. Beautiful placement of the subjects in the frame. Good luck. My favorite so far. Jacko. 10

Very nice. I'm sure this is a set up shot because nobody has a maid that looks like that, wears that, or poses like that. I realy like the composition and the colors of the gloves and wall and texture and lines of the wood on the floor and doors. 9

Nicely executed! I like the fact that this is a rather different kind of shot. The lighting here is excellent. It seems evenly distributed throughout the whole shot, which is what I think probably works best in a shot like this. The only thing here that might have been adjusted is the angle or perspective, but that's just my two cents.

interesting idea... could use some contrast.... and brightness turned down a little... plus the model, while she has a really intersting look and air of naughtyness about her, she seems to be faking it.. try working with her, and taking tons of shots to get a more natural look

This is so original! I love it! This one will get a ribbon for sure. I can't find anything wrong with it at all. The composition is excellent, the look on the subject's face is so believable, she is just crying out "I hate being a housewife!"... The angle and crop is well done, and the yellows of the gloves and the wall complement each other wonderfully. Great job!
