This one creeps up on you. It's not striking or crisp, but the low contrast and literal dullness of the photo manages to convey the dullness of the day. I like it that you have to do a bit of work to see the tower. There's something about the random placement of lighting standards that really disturbs the serenity of the setting and I think it detracts from the photo. But if this photo had been taken by one of the great photographers of all time, this might be seen as a kind of statement about how our best intentioned and best executed attempts to control and improve our environment sometimes take an aesthetic toll. |

returning for comments:
The snow here helps create a quite an impressive pleasing effect giving value to the green and red traffic light along with the trucks yellow. Wow ! Bumping up. |

The trees and the road seem to block the subject. If youtook the shot from the other side of the intersection you might get a better view of the tower. Ilike the falling snow in the photo is adds alot to the shot. |

The wall in the foreground divides the photo, also the red tractor top distracts. Pretty place... maybe a closer shot would have worked better. |

Nice snow scene, but the landmarks are a little subtle. |

auugh, don't you just love it when the weather changes?! i'm glad you went on and submitted...it definitely gave me a grin. i'll give it a 7, just because i know there's something recognizable back there. i'll also suggest you go rent jim jarmusch's first movie, "Stranger Than Paradise"; there is this one really incredible scene that takes place on the edge of lake erie, and that scene was the first thing i thought of when i saw this image. good luck. |

I barely see what I assume is the tower. I like the idea of having the tower in sort of a winter haze, but the forgroung street light and wall killed it for me. |

I can't almost see the tower with so much snow. I would've liked to see more of the tower since that is the element of the photo. but keep it up. |

Brrrr.....although, I like snow and this is a pretty looking snowfall. A picture of the skyline through the snow might not have been a terrible idea, but I don't dare for all the foreground distractions....the traffic light, the street light, and particularly the tree right in front of your main building. I think composition could have been improved by moving to a different angle. |

I see alot of stuff inthe pic - not much of the subject thoug. It hasn't fallen and looks like a wall? Are the traffic lights important to the message you are trying to communicate? if not, try another angle to elimnate them. Same for the red tractor, streetlight, etc. |
