This is an interesting composition. It certainly made me spend some time looking at your photo, so I guess that's a good thing. Your focus is great and the colors are very pleasing.

I had typed a longer comment on this and managed to loose it when I hit the favorites button. I like everything about this (and I usually hate flower shots), but here, the context of the glass, the shadow, the perfect lighting, and the subdued other colors are all great. Very nicely done.

It seems like there is so much going on it's confusing. I think it is the texture of the vase, too distracting. I do like the lighting and composition with the shadow, but the vase makes it seem a little busy.

I like the shadow. Maybe would fit the challenge better if you isolated a single bloom?

There is something about this one, the immediacy, that just keeps pulling me back over and over again. It is not "technically perfect", but it has something so much more for me. Sorry I can't explain this better.

Nice foto, to me the shadow is a distraction... maybe just cropping it to include the flower would have worked best.
