was really excited with the result I got from a flower photo by flipping and using difference blending mode ..

I could have done the complete flip blend and flip again and again .. but this result had so much more to it ..

it wasn’t only an abstract but I’m loving the creature that emerged ..

of course I may be biased as it looks very insect like .. especially the moth like scales on its wings and the hairs on its face .. etc ..

getting a really mixed reception from the voters ..

after rollover ..
quite disappointed with the result ..

and i dont understand the six 4's .. arent they for images that dont really fit the challenge .. this totally did .. would loved to have had feedback as to why this bombed so badly with a lot of ppl ..

anyhow..
this was another possible.. but after I'd edited it I realised it was taken 8 hours before the challenge was announced ..

Itâs hard to believe itâs not one of your amazing insect photos. The voters are so unpredictable. For me, it seems the more I THINK a photo is going to do great, the more likely it is to see the voters go, âMeh... take this 5 or 4â, haha!

Not too long ago, I was looking back at old challenges and it seemed every challenge got tons and tons iof comments and tons and tons of votes! It made it easier for the few who like to vote down photos at the end not change things much. Now, like here, with only 39 votes.... it only takes a couple who do that to ruin an overall score! In my last challenge, I went from a 7.00 to a 6.5 in 4 votes!! I guess itâs just something we have to live with... and not place too much importance on the scores. Itâs hard I know, because we want to win or at least do good... but for me, itâs been good to learn to do my best, and be proud of what I enter, then not let the end result get to me too much. Art is so subjective! And with only 39 people weighing in, it really means nothing as to the quality of the art! Thatâs my 2-cents anyway.
