 Wow, so glad this did well. I've been kicking myself since I didn't enter it in the May FS.

This is from the pair of Northern Flickers that nested in a tree behind our yard. She had been on egg duty for most of the day and was now just resting outside the hole, preening. She kept stretching her wings out, one at a time and then sticking her beak in to fluff up the feathers and I managed to catch her just before.

Glad you all liked it.

Great shot! Certainly better than I could do considering my camera has a setting designed to eliminate flicker.
