Ok -- no, dogs did not domesticate themselves.

I think they just heard the podcast that said that cats were the only animals that did.

So they came out with new theories about dogs!

We bred them down from wolves. So while cats look almost exactly the same as cats from ages ago -- dogs have obviously had a lot of changes.

So there! ;P

(by the way, I did try to find the radio show that had all the cat domesticating themselves info (it really was quite fascinating) but I couldn't remember where I heard it and couldn't find it again. :( )

one of my favs in the challenge along with the swan/cygnet and the woody ..
this is a brilliant high contrast image .. and you have caught the cat so perfectly ..
there are a couple of images in this challenge that i think will do amazing .. and this is one of them .. congrats in advance .. !! ..
i'm not voting yet .. :)

ps .. i didnt know that cats domesticated themselves .. always good to learn knew things .. :)

a couple of minutes later .. i just googled it after i wrote that comment .. and apparently dogs also self-domesticated themselves ..

Cat, but did they? I mean, there are theories that dogs did, too. Regardless, very nice image. Love the stark contrast between the cat and the background, and that curvy tail tip adds interest.

we had a cat like this, Black but now they are not seen it seems that we have multi coloured ones now 8
