 In wetlands, muskrat push-ups provide welcome lookouts for bald eagles and resting and nesting spots for other water birds like geese, pelicans, and swans.

I realize that this was taken as a shoehorn by at least some. Let me assure you it was not. The minute I read the challenge title, I thought of these homes. I went down hoping to get a muskrat on its own front porch . . . which I had photographed just before the challenge was announced. I thought that would be perfect. Alas, that day they had better sense than to swim about and be prey for eagles :)
