I haven't heard yet from SC but the Standard Editing rule says that:

"You must... create your entry from 1 or more captures of a single scene"...
"This rule is intended to allow"...
"panoramic or other techniques that use multiple, nearly simultaneous, images of a scene stitched together into a single image"

This image is a panorama of 12 images taken in one place in a short time stitched in software called PTGui using a stereographic projection called Little Planet.

The Standard Editing rule does not specify what kind of projections can or cannot be used. I conclude therefore that Little Planet type images are allowed under Standard Editing. I hope SC will confirm this to stop future confusion.
----

I just received the validation message, it is legal under Standard Editing

I thought this was an interesting end product, but didn't see how this was "above" anything - more of a side view of the castle. So you probably got dinged on voting from both aspects. However, I disagree with roz in that you weren't "slaughtered", this image placed 25th out of 62. Placing higher than 60% of other entries isn't terrible, perhaps not up to expectations, but still "ok-ish" (is that a word?). :-)

I'll be watching with interest as to how this plays out with the requested validation.

i loved this .. i'm so sorry you got slaughtered .
we can commiserate together ..
i feel mine was seen as not from above .. but i was standing right above the little beetle looking down at him ..
its a shame that ppl make assumptions and vote accordingly .. <3

Must have been a beautiful image before. I hate the processing. It is now more about the effect than it is about the image. Does it fit within standard editing?
