i first titled it "¿Amarillo a donde?" which is spanish for "Yellow to where?", but at the last minute changed it to "camino a la luz" which is spanish for "pathway to light".

taken just after sun up on the bridge across the pamunkey river. had to listen with both ears, because i was on my hands and knees on a two-lane bridge without much shoulder...oh, the things we do for love!

i wasn't happy with the dof, but unfortunately, the weather changed before i could get back to reshoot it, so i'll have to settle for whatever this pulls in.

post: slight adjustments to levels and saturization, sized, slight usm.

I like this one a lot. Gritty, dramatic, graphic and un-cluttered. The yellow diagonals are obviously very
powerful but the texture running in the opposite direction is also interesting and grounds the image (literally)

Shooting early has given you great modeling from the low angled light which works well.

Again the sharpening seems quite crisp, with very sharply defined edges - works for this shot so it may be intentional.

There's an opportunity for some sort of 'reward/focal point' in the upper left - some bright colour contrast - blue, or red maybe, or some sort of textural contrast - a squashed armadillo perhaps (!) You've got a great stage here, it maybe needs one more 'actor' to make it sing.

Great detail on the road survace, and good placement of the parallel yellow lines on the diagonal.

THis is an effective shot... an different take on the challenge... its not a daisy, daffodil, lemon, sunflower or even a sunset... and for that as well as the effective shadows and great texture you get a 9 from me.

The glow at the upper-left really adds just the right magic here.
