Challenge link: very strong.
Image critique: powerful subject, great weather, crisp, good POV (you cast a good shadow!) and the reflected city is wonderful. The quality of the shot is lovely and the sculpture reminds me of the film 'Flight of the Navigator' with the chromium space craft.
Out-of-challenge appeal: yup - very satisfying. |

Great use of reflections. Like the group of people in the shot, contemplating this new landmark. |

superb object, maybe try a more unusual angle to really give the bean more of an impact, its just a bit too 'straight' IMO - 6 |

Deja vu...I saw another bean earlier. I like this one better. A more pleasing composition and the reflection is quite interesting. Who's that lone figure standing in the distance in the reflection? I wonder... :) |

Like the people in the shot to give it scale, but from looking at the sculpture I think there are more interesting angles to shoot from. |

Cool, now you don't have to buy a fisheye anymore, just carry a magic bean in your camera bag. The composition is interesting to some extent, but the lighting of the surrounding scene is a bit flat. The exposure in the bean is better. :)
Another fun aspect is: Where are you on that bean? Pretty far away and small I guess, there where the front tiles go into a bit darker grey, at the intersection of two panels on the bean?

Looks like a great place to check makeup on your lunch break! I thought our town had bragging rights for some ..ahem...questionable art - but this is right up there! It's a good shot of it, but I would have liked something a bit more creative than this straight-on shot. |

Would be better with a different lens - the buildings are bent on the sides of the pic -crop them out or stand farther back and use less a wide angle, or alter the pic in PS to strighten the buildings. |

Cool. I like the photo but it could have use a little perspective correction, so the building do not seem to be tipping in so much...7 |
