Greetings from the Critique club.

I think you have come up with an excellent idea for this challenge but the execution has let you down a little.

The overall impression I get when first viewing this is that it is a little harsh in lighting and could have been a bit sharper to give better clarity. The composition is OK but I feel that the seed? on the bottom is very distracting this could have been cropped out to give a better composition.

As a general rule macro/close ups need to be sharp as possible so the detail can enhance the image perhaps a faster shutter speed would have helped here. Without the detail the other thing the image suffers from is no focal point my eye wonders but has nothing to be drawn to or hold it besides that black seed.

On a positive note you have great colour and a very clever idea but just needed a little more punch to score higher. I wish you luck in future challenges and a Merry Christmas.

Cheers

of all the shots of assorted fruits i have seen in this challange, this is one of the more creative ones and i like change...well done. all the fibers, the seed, and the center of the slice really work well. good luck

This appears a tinge overexposed. Lovely idea though. I especially like the composition with center in the lower left corner and the seed and rind in view. Thanks for the title, it did not take long to orient myself to the subject. A 9.
