mariuca yes, that bush on the way to my front door bugged me as well, but I could not find a better spot for this photo without making a much greater effort of shooting "on location". Of course, an urban environment (New York brownstone, preferably :)) would have been a lot better, but you play with what you got...
bsluijk yes indeed it would've been a much nicer explanation, although a little hard to believe in, since 1 and 10 are pretty far away on the range of scores to accidentally click on one instead of another :) |
MANY CONGRATS ON THE BLUE LEV ..
it satisfied the challenge perfectly ..
and thankyou so much for the backstory and for your replies ...
i love reading what went on behind the scenes .. :) |

Excellent. Oddly enough, I forgot to vote on this challenge - it happens sometimes, but I would have marked 9 (hmm, again the tree on the left). The 1 mark is quite interesting so to speak ; one would think that the interest and appreciation of good photography surpasses the desire to win by all means.
On second look, the color variant is spectacular - the light on the man hands and face deserves applause. |

There's no way this didn't have the Lev Stamp all over it! That lighting! See? I told you it was the LevT Challenge! :D
I love this. Perfect lighting... perfect props... and models!
If it makes you feel any better, if that "One Vote" person hadn't voted, this would only have placed second in your lineup... not first.
32 votes times 7.5938 = 243
minus one... is 242 divided by 31 votes = 7.8065
Your highest is a whopping 7.8557 !!
Congratulations anyway... |

Great shot - congratulations. Best of the bunch. Just a thought: could it perhaps be that the "1" was actually entered accidentally, by a user who used the keyboard and intended to given you a 10? It's certainly a nicer thought than thinking this was done intentionally ... |

This was definitely the standout entry in this challenge. It is so realistic and believable as a film noir. We all agree that those low votes are irritating and malicious. If someone feels that strongly they should have the courage to stick up for their opinion and write a critique to explain their reasoning. They owe the artist at least that.
