 A place we stopped at on vacation for lunch. There were some people eating here but they were all to the right of what's captured here (including my family). I'm sitting at the end of the table looking to my left.

Considered cropping this to show just the room to the right, but I like the surprise element that the extra room adds to the story.

Nik CEP4 BW Conversion
Soften brush to remove jaggies on some chairs.
Dodge brush in upper corner to remove some vignette (from phone case in wide mode - need to fix this case!).

I agree that adding the room to the left was a good choice. The right part of the photo was nice enough, but the fact that the left was so different, different warmth, particularly, draws your eye to it and does intensify the feeling of emptiness. If you were going for pretty -- just the right part. But when you're going for the ghost town/empty feeling, it adds quite a bit to the story.
