Hard to do when you're both photographer and subject. I know there'll be lots of "more yellow" photos...and probably lots of lemons...but there is something about citrus that is appealing.
I hope this image gets more than the usual 5, 5, 5, 5, 6, 3, 5, 5, 5, 5 votes. Perhaps I'll even make someone thirsty?
Taken with a tripod and cable release. Discovered that when backlighting, an incandescent bounced off poster board produces much whiter light than a backlit drape. Desaturated everything except yellow channel and not fully desat on green and red. Set white point, then black point. Resize, USM, save as jpeg.
Looking forward to my comments. There's always something others see that I don't. Happy to have a self-portrait and a profile of me to share. |

I like the partial silhouette of the face and hand against the white background. The lack of colors besides yellow brings good focus to the lemon slices in the glass. |

Nicely done. Excellent composition, placement, creativity, and DOF. One of my top 3. |

Great lighting and life to the picture. Adding the action to an image of the lemon makes this one of the better lemon shots (and there's many) in this contest. 9 in my books, nicely composed. |

Excellent entry. The almost silhouette is very interesting, just enough detail to add a bit of mystery. I don't think the bottom lemon in the glass is needed - it would be better with just the one. |

Foreground too dark....probably intentional, but doesn't work for me... |

Great idea, and well done photo. Wished there was more color on the lemon. |

This is a nice approach, the silhouette is great - terrific lighting. I think you would do a little better in this particular challenge if the lemons were a little more vibrant, as it is the colour yellow isn't quite creating the impact of the photo. 6 |

This is a great photo -- I normally don't like dark, 'in-the-shadow' photos like this, but this one works for me.
The only thing that will probably hurt your score is that the yellow lemons are a really dull yellow in color -- if that yellow was boosted, or better lit, I think your entry would get a much higher overall vote. |
