So… I haven’t “played” in awhile. I think because I’ve been in a season of heightened vulnerability because of other things and didn’t want to add to it by getting my beloved photos trashed or dismissed in the voting arena, haha (What a baby I am, right?) But the theme spoke to me so on the last day, I decided to play again! I’m touched by the nice comments. Thank you! So since I got some comments wondering how I did it, here’s just the basics how:

For the background scene, I took a very ugly picture of a Texas muddy tree-lined stream after a rain. Then, I used a heavy vertical motion blur just on the trees, keeping the water and tree on the right sharp. I played with different blurs on the water and saturated the yellows and reds to give the trees that glowy look.

The kids’ picture is one I took at a church picnic where a bunch of people got baptized in the river. Voila….. they fit perfectly 🥰

Oh my gosh, I hadn't even noticed this challenge was extended edit! So I wondered about this image as it was one of my top contenders and I wanted to come back and see it there was a story. Very nice!!

anyway .. this is GORGEOUS .. !! ..
sorry i didnt make a comment during voting .. i may have got a slow internet and that stops all opening of pics and commenting etc ..
loving the beautiful sunshiny colours in this and the joyful children in the water ..
when something makes us smile thats a winner in my book ..
