This was such a strange image -- an image within and image and it makes me want to look up for the source of the shadow.
Based on extensive interactions with seagulls - I consider them to be an Apex predator. :) |

Spot on for the challenge. A Sandpiper of some sort? At any rate, from the Tringa family, and beautifully captured. The inclusion of the looming gull works really well for this challenge, although I am certain the as a stand-alone photo I would prefer it with clear negative space. In my top 5. |
