 I wasn't sure how this was going to go over. I loved the idea, but I wasn't sure that I edited it well enough for it to work, and if the seagull being so oof would be a negative. I liked that it was just a bit of a looming spector. But I loved the fact that I had a seagull reflection without a seagull -- I had to enter it even though I had other shots that might have worked better. So I love that this one did this well. Thanks so much for the comments!

Seagulls shouldn't be a spooky thing, but they do love to steal things from other birds. Though they don't seem to bother most of the wading birds up in Chincoteague. Just each other.

I believe this is a greater yellow legs. I'll have to look it up later.

This was such a strange image -- an image within and image and it makes me want to look up for the source of the shadow.

Based on extensive interactions with seagulls - I consider them to be an Apex predator. :)

Spot on for the challenge. A Sandpiper of some sort? At any rate, from the Tringa family, and beautifully captured. The inclusion of the looming gull works really well for this challenge, although I am certain the as a stand-alone photo I would prefer it with clear negative space. In my top 5.
