 Desaturated & vignette added in PS ACR. 50% Gaussian blur in Soft light mode on a layer & erased on top layer in spots, flattened and duplicated layer, added contrast to bottom layer then erased top layer in spots. Rinse, repeat two more times. Photo was taken with a Canon 30 D that I no longer own.

The clarity and sharpness is outstanding. Very interesting pattern and thanks for the description. I had the 20D and the 50D. Both great cameras in their time.

I love the object and the play of light and shadow. Great background as well. Some doubt whether I want to consider this to be an abstract though.
