It was a live performance, a jazz quartet at our friends' backyard. It was cold but wonderful, not only great music, but also a great chance to chat and photograph. We started doing these outdoor concerts last year, to help out local musicians that suddenly lost nearly all opportunities to perform, but decided to continue this year. |

This gentleman, with his direct gaze, seems to hold his bass fiddle lovingly, like a child. He has a quiet dignity. Just a bit of blur to let the viewer understand that music is taking place. Nice depth of field. The light gives him and his instrument a soft glow. |
