I don't usually get excited over partial desats, but in this case I really like it. It helps to point out the two major elements/forces in the photo.
I hope I won't get too many: "why did you leave the pen colored, too?" Answer: because the rings are the symbol of the marriage, but the pen is the "knife", so to speak. Its the signature - via the pen - that will end it all.
Is that getting a bit TOO deep and meaningful?

This looks very much fake to me, sorry.

I hope this is staged. Tough theme in this pic, but very appropriate. Great use of selective desat. Tastefully executed.

powerful representation, thought not sure i like the color for the pen. the rings work, but not sure if the red on the pen benefits (for balance) or detracts.

shouldn't the ink be red as well? I'd think that would take it over the edge...

Strange. I can see the point of the desat leaving the rings coloured, but the pen? Really, though, it's so blatantly set-up that I think it undermines any sense of the emotion that might have been found here. Confidently done technically, compositionally, but lacks impact for me.

Not sure I like the red pen - the rings would've been enough. Maybe some teardrops on the papers? And thank you for not using the word "broken" in your title. ;-)

Interesting take, and one of the few good uses of selective desat.

Jane Smith? This is a somewhat bland looking image and is missing the human element of pain...I know the hands are there, but I'm not at all convinced. And the "Jane Smith" seems very 'made up'...

LOL. Did you do the setup with your husband? :-)

Well done!

Excellent, nice touch with the desat and tissues.
