 getting photos of this mantisfly was pretty special .. mainly because it seemed to be taking cover from the rain under the bent over grass stalk .. and also because its a very cute little insect .. especially with those beautiful iridescent eyes and lacey wings .. :)

Roz, although I realize you’ve had higher scores with insect/arachnid photos, I think this is one of your most stunning ever. Definitely a top 3 from me in this challenge. Amazing in every way.

So much to see - the mantisfly under the pointed grass arch, bejeweled with water drops, who's playing a spiderweb harp, and backed by sherbety bokeh. So, of a piece. Backyard perfection.
