 This is my own hand, lighted by two gridded strip softboxes on both sides from a close distance, so the rest of me remained dark.

I would love to be able to just copy this and try the same thing. I'm starting to entry photos into juried shows at a gallery. And I think this is just smashing (hmmm -- sounding a tad English, but smashing is just the right adjective!)

I keep thinking how I could change it up a bit, but it still seems like it would be copying it. I thought about an old, wrinkled woman's hand coming out of the upper right and a child's hand out of the lower left, but I'm not old or wrinkled enough, and I don't have little kids anymore. :)

Anyway, what a great idea and spectacularly executed!

Congratulations Lev! This was the clear blue to me. Absolutely compelling, and one of those images that looks simple but it very hard to pull off well
