I'm a bit ambiguous about this one - without the title there is little that says "darkness" to me. And then there is the question if the state of the union is dark because of too few or too many bullets. And there may be the possibility that I'm missing your point entierly.
As a photo it is an interesting shot, technically well done regarding the light and its reflections.
