 when i saw this challenge the first thing i thought of was the snail parasitic blowflies as they are very much blue and yellow .. altho they do have some green in there too .. so i went out looking for them ..

they have a distinctive sound so often you find them more with your ears than your eyes .. ;)

not sure if this is the sort of thing the challenge wanted .. not being at all relevant to whats going on in the Ukraine .. but its all i've got ... :)

It very much fits the challenge, and I was certain this one would be in the winners' circle. The colors and detail are just mindblowing!

Another masterful foray into the realm of our insect friends. The detail is stunning. The colors are definitive. The woody bit the fly's standing is interesting, as is the milky background. The flash in his/her eye is somewhat distracting.
