 Not my idea I am afraid, I saw this image on the net.
I attached a clamp to the glass and turned it upside down, then poured the water out of the bottle underneath the glass. Depending on how full it is, you can tilt the bottle back up (and towards the glass) and still get some of the water coming out. I needed the bottle to be angled towards the glass obviously.
I made 3 different set ups of this (one outdoor with a white BG, one in the studio lit from the side and this. I liked the side light on the bottle better, but the reflections on the glass were too much so in the end I chose the back light.

I like how the blue stands out and how you caught the water frozen in time. I do wish the bottle stayed looking translucent throughout not just at the neck. Neat photo thanks.
