Challenge: Art of 2022: A Retrospective (EXTENDED Editing) (Extended Editing*)
Collection: Portfolio
Date: Feb 12, 2022
Aperture: 8.0
ISO: 2000
Shutter: 1/400
Date Uploaded: Mar 7, 2023

This is actually a simple photograph taken through a narrow window pane in the Museum at Prairiefire in Overland, Kansas; I was looking at a bare-branched tree and the wall of a multi-storied parking structure across the street from the museum. The window itself is covered with blue dichroic glass; the color is produced by coating the surface of the glass with vaporized metal oxides. Exposing for the outside resulted in the very dark interior walls on either side which I did take down to black.

Here's the original:

ah I liked this modern composition. It has some of that cold modernity but also warm waves of tree and shadow.

C'mon, this is fabulous. This admonition certainly applies to me, too. Great composition. Lovely tree, with some branches catching the sun. The blues, of course --- set one vibrating in pleasure, you have to feel it. A surprise that never fails to delight.

Awww thanks, Rich. First time I've ever wished that the annual "Art" show was Standard Editing (I know it was at least once, a few years back, and I was right there with those wishing it was Extended!) I'm busy this morning, but will try to get back and upload the original.
