Simple, yet very appealing composition. I must also say, for once a big border like this doesn't take aways from the shot. The whole thing just fits. Great work.

Impressive border. I think you can make it bigger though!

Returning for comments:
A very charming image with rich beautiful tones. The framing a bit distracting, the white creates a minor distraction. I wonder how gray would fair. Anyway, I am not judging the frame but your fine image. Bumping up.

hmm.. looks maybe foggy or something - i really like the angle and exposure you've chosen - i think the silhouette serves this picture well. the sky does seem a bit dull, but not sure how to correct that (i'm guessing it was overcast? not sure)

The silouette works great, this has stong emotion for me.

I think the borders over dominates this photo. I was torn by the 'misty' effect within this photo. Part of me liked it, while the other part of me thought it ruined the shot. I also think you could have done more justice cropped in on the actual broken limb. I think the background is also quite distracting. 5

great usage of the tree trunk to frame the background

Simple, elegant, and the background is stunning. This image is very appealing to me. Classic and moody. 9

Great picture. The subject does not dominate the shot and is well placed within the whole image. Good luck

The border is too overpowering, also seems a little soft

What well composed image! I love the misty background compared to the dark silhouette of the trunk...and how the background trees become the focus of the piece only because of the framing effect. Best of the lot..well done

Such a simple subject but such a strong portayal. I love it how the dark broken tree is so dark vs the bright sky (with tone preserved instead of blown out = good). The frame you made also works well with that. Good use of background elements to give the viewer a feeling about what he is looking at and in what settings.

Nice border, fantastic background and great conversion to B&W. The subject is good and well spotted, brilliant composition. Bumping this up once again.

I don't care for the framing particularly, but a nice photo otherwise.

Great composition. Love the depth of the woods behind the silhouette of the tree.Like the framing too. Good luck.

way too much black border and white border is distracting. Actual image is very good

I like the way the broken tree frames the trees behind. Not at all liking the heavy frame around the photo -- let your photo speak for itself.

I nearly submitted a broken tree in our area but i changed my mind, nice choice for B&W
