 Really thought this was going to perform totally Meh. Nice surprise.

Elephant ear in a neighbors yard that I spotted while out cycling. Returned the next day with the big camera

Original thought was a typical detail shot of a leaf, but I could not get some areas to be sharp no matter my settings. I eventually realized that the issue was some of the details were slightly below the outer skin of the plant and would never be sharp. So I leaned into that natural appearance with a dark moody look instead.

I found this image to be very engaging - reminds me of the afternoons spent staring up at clouds and seeing different images in them. This reminded me of a road or a topographical map, so many ‘things’. Well done.
