 Smaller ones (males) are on top.

Females are larger on the bottom.

Sometimes the males drown the females... I assume by accident, but... there you have it.

They were not enjoying doing "it" in front of the other couple.

Oh well...

Better than drowning... AND... I saved their eggs by putting them in non-chlorinated water instead of in the pool where they left them.

Off you go, toads!

@Larry... They were copulating in our pool.

I took both couples out, set them on our kitchen table, and shot them.

If there's an Intimacy challenge and you have toads having sex in your pool, it's not a hard stretch of the imagination that you should shoot them. ;)

BTW, they were not comfortable being near the other couple.

I guess they wanted privacy.

LOL! I knew. there had to be a story behind it!! I couldn't help but read more about toad mating habits after seeing your picture. It's interesting that they prefer to copulate under moonlight. They are so romantic:)
