Was going to try and identify this frog specifically, but it turns out that's a very difficult task. There are two types of Gray Treefrogs in our area and the most unique thing between them is their call (and I didn't get this one to talk - LOL).

While researching them I also found out they can change their coloration very quickly to blend in to their surroundings (variations of gray, green, and cream colors).

I was so excited for this challenge to start voting. Thought this was an awesome photo. Then all the 4's starting rolling in. Eh. Oh well, next time ... and I still like it! :-)

it is cunning. the problem for me is that the blob on the right keeps demanding to be deciphered. (didn't vote this challenge).

Actually, I thought the same, but it's eyes are actually wide open. The surrounding tree area is reflecting off the eyes. The dissecting black line across the middle is the pupil(?). You can see the eyelids at the top of the eye area.
