Focus seems very good, framing is O.K., not that I can think of a suggestion for a better crop. Lighting seems a little dim, but the clear glass chess pieces probably wouldn't have looked as good in a brighter lighting. Non-Scoring NIT - The frosted king died about 5 moves ago, this is a bit overkill. 5 Swash |

change the angle of your camera. perhaps place the camera behind the clear pieces framing the king with a good sidelight off camera flash? |

When playing a game from the beginning, there is no way to get the king into this situation. It couldn't happen. It's impossible. And I don't even know that much about chess. Think about it this way, you can remove all kinds of pieces and still have it be checkmate. Remove the knights. Remove the left bishop. Still checkmate.
