 This man called Henry and his wife Joan (I met him for the first time) spent months in preperation for Xmas, they are Sugar Cane farmers but live in town. Henry would get up at 4am and start work on the decorations as he had to be at the farm early as it is harvesting time when he returned late in the afternoon he would again work into the evening. They did this to encourage donations to a cancer support group. They not only decorated their house but they worked with local musical artists and businesses to host a free Carols by candlelight for the neighbourhood, with all artists, lighting, staging and sound equipment donated.

Sadly as an act of irony Joan has herself now been diagnosed with cancer, she is reported to be doing well.

I only met Henry after viewing his front and backyard and all the windows into his house while listening to the free concert as we walked around. Suddenly I felt like it was Christmas.

great story to accompany the image. i'm sure that if we could include descriptions, this would've catapulted through the rankings (puts it into better perspective). glad you could share this with DPC.
