CRITIQUE CLUB

This is a gorgeous shot and one you should be proud of for your first shot. For the future, it helps to know that the "challenge subject" is taken pretty seriously here, which is why you didn't score higher (he looks to sweet it be in despair). I hope you will continue with the challenges though - you have a wonderful eye, and the image is beautiful.

I like the texture created by the wrinkles. The black and whaite is nice.

This little guy is really in despair

good picture, and the b&w makes it even better

Wow! What a serious, wrinkly little guy! His squeezed eyes and pursed mouth really speak of despair. I hope that's just his normal expression for now, and not an indicator of actual trouble. Intense photo. The tight cropping really enhances it all.

what a beautiful photo! I do wonder if a little brightness could help?

I, unlike other's in this challenge, do think that babies can and do feel despair. I don't however see it here...sorry. I fail to understand the title also...could he really already be in "big trouble"...I just don't get it. It is an okay picture of a newborn though.

Looks like Yoda. :)

Very sweet...not sure I get the connection to despair though.

Beautiful photo, but I don't know how it fits the challenge??? Also, a bit grainy. GORGEOUS child though!

this could have been a great image if it wasn't so grainy, try NeatImage. Also it doesn't meet the challenge, despair is no hope.

I like the texture, and the grain may help the effect. Seems to be carved in stone.

I think this is an excellent photo although it doesn't communicate despair to me. It does communicate many other things. Great job. I wish i didn't have to mark it lower for the topic.

to me, this image suggests a life that will be full of suffering. Works.

Technically a very good shot, but I can't understand how such a beautiful little creature can instil a sense of despair (Guess you have to be a parent). Still I believe that based on technical quality alone the shot deserves at least an eight, I decided to deduct two points for the challenge- 6.
