 PP - cropped, cloned some food off her nose, increased structure and sharpness, grunge effect, resized

There's a sad story here. I didn't take this for the challenge; I was trying to get a good picture of my cat, Carly, but she wouldn't look at me. She was suffering from endstage renal disease and I knew the end was near, and wanted one last picture of her beautiful face. This was the best I got, and I couldn't bear to delete it. She died later that day, and I miss her terribly. This is my tribute to her. When I went back through my pictures I discovered my not-what-I-wanted image looks appropriate grunged. RIP sweet Carly.

I feel for your loss. It hasn't been long since we said goodbye to 3 of our 4 senior pets and the emotions are still near the surface. Pictures of the better days help to keep the memories alive.

Sorry to read about your cat passing away. It is difficult to see them getting old, change behaviour and to see that the end is not far. She has this quiet and accepting expression.

and I feel so sad for you ..
at least she's not lost in your digital files .. you can always see her here ..
