Hey Chris, stumbled onto this website by using a program Stumble, and clicked on Victoria, because, as you may recall, I used to work with you at Monday Magazine so many generations ago. Congratulations on such a fine photograph, and best of luck in the New Year. And, I suppose I could thank the taxpayers of British Columbia for lighting that puppy up. Lotsa great memories of that building and the Inner Harbor on New Years and many other magic nights.

Feel free to e-mail me, jeremy@jeremy.com or go to my website www.jeremy.com and bring me up to date on the whole old gang. And, if you're in Seattle, call. We'll go flying, get some aerial photos that might be fun. You can fly the plane, I'll do the shooting. Oh, wait, maybe I'd better fly it.

Thanks so much for the great feedback. I was using a new lens - a 10.5mm f/2.8 fisheye from Nikon. It's a great lens and I'm only starting to learn what I can do with it. I'm very excited to finally win a ribbon - almost to the day of joining last year. Thanks again for all your great feedback.

Beautiful shot Christina!
Interesting perspective, especially with the curvature.
Congrats on the Yellow!

What lens did you use to capture this wonderful image of the BC Legislature? I love the look. What was the focal length, f-stop, etc.? Who makes it?

Love the wide-angle distortion, though I would prefer the center of the building to be vertically straight. The sky is a gorgeous shade of blue. Top stuff.

I would have liked to have seen this rotated a few degrees cw. That would have made the center stucture vertical and create a symetry in the image. As is, it seems off balance to me. Still, 7 becuase I like the subject, sharpeness and exposure.
Returning for final view - bumping to 8

nice view angle and perspective.
shame about the black "floor"? in the bottom corners, but I doubt you could do much about that.

Pretty cool looking, love the graduated color in the sky. Looks just a tad bit katywampus, but no matter, it doesn't change my vote.

I love that this has the fisheye curve to it. Very beautiful with the dark bottom against the evening sky. That one tiny sparkle of a star make it for me.

Great fish-eye effect to really create an "experience" out of this image.

Stunning. I have to say I wish that tilt was corrected, but it's still a great shot.

The fish-eye aspect of this shot is what makes it work. I think a rotation of 1 degree right and a little tighter crop, just enough to remove the trees on either side would have worked better (I tried it in Elements). I think this will do well in any case.
