You've already heard about the "flaws" of this image in terms of the challenge; it does not meet the terms of the challenge, inasmuch as even though the face is hidden in this picture it is still an actual face. The challenge was about "finding" faces in things that aren't really faces; tree trunks, reflections, cloud formations, the possibilities were endless.

You've also heard that the white spaces here, and the tiny margins right and left, are very offputting, and I agree.

Speaking of it as an image, it's in many ways quite spectacular. It's a brooding, strong photograph. It's not 100% to my taste, but it seems to me you've probably accomplished what you set out to do. Just out of a sense of exeprimentation, you might try taking this image and reducing the contrast/oversaturation a little bit in the sky, maybe even soften it up a bit, and see how that alters the mood of the thing. There are many, many ways you could handle the post-processing on this image.

I've been looking at this for about ten minutes now. I've come to the conclusion that your 'hidden face' is that of the person in the photo. I don't necessarily like this idea, nor do I think it represents what they meant by 'hidden faces'. With that said I think the colors alone on this photo are awesome, not to mention the texture of the sky. I really do like the silhouette (spelling?). I think over all it's an amazing shot, may even go in my favorites. But for the sake of the challenge I didn't think it was a winner.

Not sure that this quite meets the challenge. Nice sunset and silhouette effect though.

Nice capture but not sure this falls within the intent of the challenge.

This would have looked so muck better without the heavy top and bottom borders.

Not sure what you were going for here. sorry

nice, weird frame tho!

I see faces in the clouds. I might have left the person out of the photo.

Too bad about the large white bars top and bottom.

yikes...i do hope you got a good capture of this sunset--it looks like it was beautiful. as for your image, it looks like you need to work a bit more on post-processing... as for the challenge, this is barely reaching my interpretation of the challenge description. good luck!

I don't get this one. On my system - it has huge white spaces above and below the sunset picture. I also don't see a non-human hidden face - mabe I'm just missing the point.

Border is poorly constructed. The margin on the right is wider than on the left. You can create a pleasing border with balanced proportions by using 'canvas size' in Photoshop (or equivalent).

The sky is out of focus since you focused on the silhouette. I agree that the sky is very beautiful, and if you got the sky in better focus, this shot would have much more appeal.

As for meeting the challenge, "the face you submit may not be something that is intended to be a face". I think this means that you cannot use a person's head, silhouette or otherwise, to represent the hidden face.

Overall, you have here an out of focus shot of the fantastic sky and the silhouette is very distinctive and adds much artistic interest. The border kills this shot for me, unfortunately.

No people permitted, even if they were I am not too fussy about your wide white background top and bottom, nice shy though

lol, nice sunset but did you read the challenge description?
i like the frame but thats just my odd tastes, good luck with the 'voters'

This is a wonderful capture -- but unfortunately, it's going to get down-voted because it doesn't really meet the challenge that well. Also, the very large white border below and above the picture are going to hurt -- although you're probably going to hear that from a few more than just myself ;-)

Great photo but does not meet challenge requirements.
