Greetings from the CC club!

THEME: Met! A nice little niche.

LIGHTING and FOCUS: The lights and darks are well balanced and the focus is where it should be.

CROPPING: Well done.

COMPOSITION: I think that having a "happy" military man ruins the atmosphere of the pic. I don't think it represents the military life at all.. especially not for stock. It's also very static which is an oposite image of the military. The photo seems to be missing some "UMPF" to make it really work.

All the best!

Have fun!

This would work for a stock shot. Well done.

Such young boys.... Somehow I feel uneasy seeing a smiling face juxtaposed against army fatigues. It feels like it's either advertising the military, or it's a propaganda image. I guess that's fine for stock photography though.

I think of action photos when I think of the military. If you were to try to sell, something of significant interest must be in the picture. Does your picture show an item of high interest? 4

VERY cool picture and so patriotic right now. Seems just a little candid, but I like it still the same.

Fantastic capture of real life photography. I like this shot because of the way you have 'captured the moment' feel. Very natural looking and it's not staged. Excellent colour, lighting, composition and lighting techniques used here. Excellent job and GL.

The soldiers are a bit dark but that's the camo. No action shots? I'd be more inclined to purchase a photo of these guys training than standing. The soldier on the right should really keep an eye on where his weapon is pointed, not very safe. You'll have to forgive me I am a safety NCO for my unit. 6

You usually don't see the soldiers smiling - this could be a recruitment ad. Good exposure. It does bother me that the other two men have their backs turned.

If I were buying images like a picture editor does I might find it hard to use this one to illustrate "Military and Defence" as you suggest in your title. I would worry that the rifle is pointed toward the head of one of the soldiers (it might not be, it just could be taken that way) and that demonstrates carelessness ... not something I want in the military. The focus is on the mark and the background is not distracting from your main subjects.
