This is my 14 month old granddaughter, photographed on my front porch after she bumped her chin...a traumatizing experience! The sad look on her face, and the tear on her cheek, had an air of despair to me. Cropped, desaturized, and levels adjusted in photoshop.

The light is nice in this photo. The texture created by the hair is also nice.

I can tell that this little girl is probably happy most of the time, so when things go wrong it hurts a whole lot. That is dispair in my book. Nice picture with super contrast and focus. I love how she is hanging on to the bricks like it gives her confidence. If the tear had been whole and still in a droplet it would be the very best. 9

Very nice photo. I really like the clearness and the black and white in the image. The image of the young girl crying, truely does a good job of displaying dispair.

Fantastic! I love this one, you've captured it well. The tears on the little girl's cheeks really give this image impact!

This is an excellent photo... the brick wall really makes this work for me... maybe it represents a barrier that is impossible to overcome... nice work :) - setzler

Heartbreaking... The lines on the brick wall draw the eye in wonderfully...

On a side note : I sure hope you didn't sit around pinching this baby or stealing her bear to get this shot...

This child does not look like she would understand despair, may be she is upset, but she has a family who loves her and in all reality she is happy.
