My cat playing with her motion activated mouse. She went crazy with it this day, and I took advantage of her frenzy. Hope she looks desparate enough, and hope to get at least 5.5 on this shot. I would have liked the forepaw to be a bit more in focus and the couch fabric less focused, but this was a difficult shot, being that I was using a flash with a little paper to bounce it and it really played havoc with her eyes in most of the shots. Learning to use my new Sony F707. This is my second week to submit with this new camera.

I have been assigned this picture by the critic club and have been looking at it everyday but I keep going back to the same thing :
- it's not despair to me, not at all
- it's an other cat

The photograph commented him/herself that the forepaw is not in focus and the cough fabric too much in focus. that would have been my 2 comments in addition to the fact that that fabric is not appropriate at all for a cat picture I think.

Final Impression : I do not think it was an appropriate picture for 'despair' and , to me, it's just a "cute cat".

not a very good "despair" picture, but it is still a pretty cool picture

I've never seen despair in an animal's eyes before but you have brought it out in this photo, good one. This is a unique shot and you captured it well.

This photo is cute. The cat's fur gives the photo nice texture.

what a beautiful cat. it looks quite contented so it doesn't really say despair to me

This is a cute cat photo... it's a little difficult to see 'despair' from a pet :) The composition here is nice, but the contrast between the cat and the background is a little weak... - setzler

It's a very good picture of the cat, but it doesn't meet the challenge very well. I don't see despair here, I see a contented cat. In fact this would have done well in the Stock Photo challenge- I could quite easliy see this ending up on a cat calendar.
