CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

COMPOSITION
I really like the silhouette on the left bottom. It gives an anchored feeling to the shot adding to the stability, I think. I think, since the upper rays weren't as noticeable, I might have cropped them out.
TECHNIQUE
Wonderful use of the available lighting. I have tried many times to "capture" rays like this, and though I have come close to getting them, I have done nothing this effective. I like the warmth of the sky in the background, and again, the silhouette adds to the picture. The sky seems a bit grainy or noisy, especially towards the top, so again, cropping that section may help.
OVERALL EFFECT
This is an awesome shot, very well composed and executed. It has a peaceful/serene feeling to it and is very pleasant to look at. I think you have met the challenge, and done it in a creative, effective way.

| Nice shot, might have been cropped a little more at the top. I think the brightness takes away from your sun rays which is the focal point. |

| You have captured a moment in natur. I feel that it has come across as somewhat too gloomy to hang on every wall in the country. If it were a little brighter it would be much more appealing to me. 6 |

| The sunrays look great coming out of the cloud. A very good atmospheric shot. The clouds are excellent, as is the composition of the photo. |

| I love this photograph. Obviously the rays of the sun have been caught beautifully and the lighting in the bottom third of the picture is very appealing. I am not sure if it is a little too tall. My eyes seem to be drawn to the bottom 2/3rds of the shot and the above that seems a little bland. However I really love it. |

| I like the filtered light you've caught here. I have a few compositional concerns. The first you probably couldn't correct, which are the blips in the water. The second is that I'm not sure about that silhouette; it just seems out of place, although it works to an extent. Nice shot, all in all. |
