This is a photo of the tuning heads on my ovation 12 string guitar. I was really working on lighting in this shot, as I just got some stand mounted big shop lights for christmas. I still have some playing around to do. I wish I had control over dof, the only control my chinchy camera gives me is where I put the camera! The "feel" I was going for with this shot was to take something generally perceived as 'artistic', in both appearance and function, and make it more mechanical, industrial looking, yet still maintain some of it's inherant "art" or beauty. Make sense??? Hope so. Technical stuff, sized, cloned out some distracting white spots and glare, played with levels, a tiny bit of hue/saturation, and usm. Thanks for checking out my pic. :-) |

| DOF way off to my eye, shadows too blocked up, static composition takes me nowhere. Try it on a diagonal? |

Composition: 5, Too centered for me and a diagonal would be good.
Technical: 4, Looks a bit over sharpened. Also dust specs in BG could have been cloned out.

| A dramatic shot - great angle and composition. I don't much care for the high-contrast however. |
