Lovely daughter and certainly a worthy resolution. The image is grand. Bumping up.

Being a mom, this tugged at my heart strings. I know this sad look. I like the lighting

This is quite a lovely shot, and one of which you can be proud. I wish you had yourself in it in some way, however; she's reading to herself here. I can accept that you mean it imply your desire to insert yourself into this activity in the future, of course, but it just doesn't sing "resolution" to me.

I love the imagery. I have twin girls and they are constantly asking me to read to them. sometimes there isn't enough of me to go around. -DDYJR

Great New Year's resolution! You'll never regret the time you invest in that child - it brings great returns to each of you. (Isn't Chris Van Alsberg an amazing author? Hope you read his other books with her as well!)

Lovely portrait! I love the diagonals of the book echoing the diagonals of the pillow where it meets the chair. The subject matter is delightful as well! You'd better share this shot with grandparents - she is just priceless!

I like the dimmer lighting in the shot. I think it adds a sort of intimacy to the shot that is present when a parent reads to their child.

I'm curious to know why it's cropped so close on the left side. This is not necessarily a criticism, but it seems like that side is a little cramped compared to the right side of the photo.
