 This was taken in the late afternoon twilight because I thought the tree was awesome, and the hedge would be good for my daughter to hide behind (she didn't like the tree in that light).

I just cropped it, converted it to B&W and used the unsharp mask.

I have no idea how this will fare because I consider it to be pretty boring. I had to change it to B&W because the sky was completely overexposed. Crossing my fingers for another average score since I'm still learning :)

Lacking real punch - without knowing your processing it's difficult to tall you what I feel is wrong, but it looks like you could use some more contrast and a good bit of sharpening - that would really hhelp bring out the patterning of that chaos of branches I think. It's not a bad image for the challenge, but you could work on your composition also.

Too bright. Darken it and push the contrast. There is no real structure, the fore- and background cannot be distinguished. 2.
