 This was the product of a six other shots. I had to take a lot to get the right font (printed out with photoshop), get the right letter placement, get the right lighting, and so forth. I wish that the yolk would have been circular, instead of just a blob, but I think that would have been nigh impossible. I love this shot anyway, I think it's the best one I've ever submitted to DPchallenge.

CRITIQUE CLUB

Challenge: You met the challenge perfectly while still being very creative.

Technique: Trying something new is always fun, and I'm glad you went out and tried this! The yolk is very dark - in the future, simply put a "spotlight" on the yolk, or even a bright yellow circular piece of paper underneith it to make it show up better. Really, that's the only critisism you received here, but it's an easy fix.

Overall: Very clever and fun to look at. I really like your approach, and I'm sorry you didn't score a bit higher. Keep trying! You are doing great and your creativity is really showing!

Fun image, with a lot of whimsical mood to it's basic idea. It is a little dark for me for no apparent reason: in other words, I can't see that the darkness enhances the image in any strong way. Try using manual focus to make sure the eggs are in focus.

interesting idea and good photo overall...a bit more clarity would make it better and I'd probably crop closer (just my opinion).

Nice photo. Tough one to catch. If the yolk was a bit brighter and "yellow" the contrast would have made the photo more dramatic. 6
