Let me guess, 17% is the percentile you think ths photo will come in for the challenge. That's all I can figure it means. Unless something in that flyer is 17% off.

In almost all cases, lack of focus will result in poor scores.

Cutting the top of the subjects head off detracts from the feel to this photograph. I find it difficult to find where my eyes should be looking in the picture. Nice try, keep them coming.

I didn't get what you were trying to convey with this photo. The title seems to indicate something on the sales paper perhaps? The boy who I am assuming is your subject and not the improvised mouseapad dosen't really have an expression that emphasizes a mood of the moment. At least not to me.

Technical:
The lighting is not the greatest because the important part of the photo (boy's face) is shrouded in shadow.

The focus also seems to be off as the whole picture is blurry.

Crop: The subject's head is cut off as well as part of the laptop.

Composition: There is a lot of clutter in the shot from the book in the top right to the print on the "mouse pad" to the mouse cord.

Overall this came across as a quickly taken snapshot.

I don't want to seem harsh but I felt I should justify the score given.

Candid it might be, but focused it's not. Also might be nice to get the whole head in the shot.
Nice mouse pad though!
