sorry if the following comes across harsh, but i call 'em as i see 'em. this is really a bad snapshot. the focus is on the drum, but unfortunately, you have shot from an angle doesn't make it very interesting. this could be done, keeping the short dof, but not from this angle. the drummer seems to be "just there", not really doing anything. as for the challenge, the blurriness here does not translate into bokeh.

I don't feel that depth of field limitations = bokeh. Sorry. 4.

the backgraound for me is too obvious, and thefore misses the bokeh feel.

I like the general balance of the composition, but wonder whetherthe lamp on the right creates too much glare behind the drummer.

No central focus, sorry, no bokeh either.

Too many elements of his photo are out of focus and compete for attention. The apparent subject, the foreground symbol (?), is very soft too. It's difficult to tell what your intentions were with this photo, but IMO, it doesn't work.

I wish this shot was a little larger so we could see more detail. As it is the foreground seems to be somewhat out of focus so the whole photo blends together. I like the idea behind this though.

The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com, which I am using for voting on this challenge: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light." We see a little of that. Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? Sort of. This image is small, which will lower your score. Also this is more a shallow DOF shot than a bokeh shot.

I wish you had an even shallower depth of field. Good idea though.
