 The background is a piece of art, in a sense. I drew it for this challenge, but its still cool nonetheless. Fine Art Markers on posterboard.

Heh. So this image is mainly about me figuring out how to use my SB800 flash when not attached to the camera. I used my normal light to illuminate the backdrop (which was about 6 feet away from the hand, which in turn was 6 feet away from the camera: I used my 70-300 with a wide apeture for a real shallow DOF) and then set the flash on its stand and put it under my hand. I used the red filter to give the effect it was being lit by fire, and used my other hand to fire off the remote. This one I liked the best, so I did some editing and uploaded it.
