One of s hundred or so cars in the World's Greatest Classic Car Museum in Auburn, Indiana. This is a 1936 Auburn. The museum has a number of classic cars but features Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs. The museum itself was originally the Duessenberg assembly plant. Originally took this shot to enter it in the "Curves" challenge but did not.

In Photoshop: Cropped for effect; Gaussian blurred the background; cloned out some hot spots from the showroom lights; cloned out a rope that was around the bottom of the vehicle; adjusted the curve; and adjusted saturation level of some selected areas; sized for the web then usm.

this is sweet. i'm curious, though, as to why you chose this crop, as opposed to either showing the whole car, or cropping in tighter? also, i hope you'll correct me if i'm wrong, but it appears that you used a gaussian blur layer on the background, and that your masking has created a bit of an edge. forgive me if i'm wrong, because i am fairly new in the digital darkroom. good luck in this and all the coming challenges!

The cramped crop here bothers me a bit. Gorgeous subject.

Nice car. The only problem that I have with this picture is that it is obviously hand-blurred to make the car stand out.

I would have preferred to have had the whole of the car in shot.

I can't really tell whether this is a toy or the real thing - so if this is a toy that is a gigantic compliment - if its the real thing, then I guess it leaves something to be desired. Overall this is by no means a bad shot, but I'm just not really inspired by it. Good luck in 2005.
