 This is pretty much my first flower shoot so knock your socks off with the critique, I know I have a long way to go with this but I am very pleased with this shot. Actually my wife was also and this is going up on our wall in 20x20cm (about 8x8 inches) where I cropped out the left part of it. It´s intentionally pretty much high key, there are actually fractions in it that almost blow out the blue channel but I figured, "what the hell". Can´t wait till Canon starts to use Foveon chips or some kind that has three layers similar to the Foveon design used by the Sigma SD9 and SD10.

Used a Sigma 105mm for this at 2.8 to intentionally get the center of the rose in focus but big parts of it out of the DOF (after all, the challenge is "bokeh"). Used both my flashes as slaves with umbrellas, the 550ex was to the right and the ratio was about 1:4 in it´s favour. The shot is pretty much unprocessed, the rose is this colour originally but I actually toned down the blue colour by shifting the white balance up about 1000 degrees kelvin in .raw to preserve a lot of the highlights and I took out a piece of white clutter that was close to the center with healing brush.
